Am I fixed into a 12 month contract?

A Zest Flexible agreement is a month on month membership payable by direct debit. This payment option can be terminated with one month's written notice after the first 2 direct debit payments have been made.

A Zest Fixed agreement membership is a commitment to a minimum number of direct debit payments agreed to as indicated at time of sale.

Are there any cooling off Periods?

Yes, there will be 14 days cooling off period – if you change your mind you will receive a full refund less the casual price of any visits made to Trafford Leisure. If you have not used the Centre a full refund will be given.

In case of medical condition, can I cancel or freeze my membership and if so, how do I do this?

Trafford Leisure can, at its discretion, allow member to with hold full payment of the monthly instalments for a maximum of 9 months in any one calendar year, An administration fee of £5 per month will however be chargeable monthly and through Direct Debit,
You can suspend your membership; however you must show us the appropriate evidence:
Medical illness or injury – you must show us a letter from your doctor
Pregnancy, you must show us a letter from your doctor

Suspending your membership is not the same as ending your membership, if you wish to cancel your membership at the end you will have to give months notice as stated in membership contract.

Where are the terms and conditions of my membership?

On the reverse of the membership form is all the terms and conditions of your membership, on joining we ask can you read these before you sign

Is there a daytime membership?

Basic membership users are for Daytime use Monday-Friday 8am – 4pm and Saturday- Sunday 9am -12noon at the weekend

If I work for a Company is there a corporate membership?

The criteria for corporate membership are a minimum of 10 people to join at one time. The benefit is a reduced monthly membership.

Can I upgrade/change my membership after I sign up?

Yes you can. We realise that your requirements can change over time, therefore you can apply to change the category of your membership at anytime, by contacting the Zest team. This can be changed in the following ways.
Change to another category of membership
Add partners

As a Zest Member would i get rewarded if I recommend a friend/Family or work colleague?

Yes as our mission statement says “More people more active, more often” we want to encourage benefits of exercise through Trafford, as a reward we will give you 1 months free membership on your Zest membership, recommend 6 friends and we will give you 6 months free, speak to a member of Zest team for details

What is included in my membership?

Our Zest packages are as easy as ABC, we have a membership package tailored made for you.
Speak to a member of our Zest team to find out which of our 4 packages below suit you best.

Aqua – Swimming (Anytime)

Basic – Gym, swimming, Exercise Classes, spinning, racquet sports and Personal Programmes (Daytime)

Complete - Gym, swimming, Exercise Classes, spinning, racquet sports and Personal Programmes (Anytime)

Family – 2 adults & 2 children Adults 16+ swim, gym, Exercise Classes (Anytime) and (daytime) Racquets

And weekend courts

Juniors under 16 includes swimming, Zest gym sessions and day time racquets/weekend courts

Plus all our memberships mean you can use all our 6 centres in Trafford. We have 6 gyms, 5 pools and over 150 exercise classes to choose from.

Payments: you can either pay by direct debit or annually. Paying annually we will give you 1 month free and no admin fee

Why do I need an induction?

All our customers have an induction before using the gym. This process is required by law and is done with your safety in mind. It is to find out if there are any medical or other conditions which could be affected by gym training, and to ensure all our customers are comfortable and safe using all the equipment provided. This process will also help our Zest team assess your fitness and help you write your own personal programme. During your membership if your medical condition changes please inform our instructors so we can update your medical records.

Will I receive exercise advice and support from the instructors as part of the membership?

On joining Zest we will look at your fitness aims you want to achieve, your fitness instructor will provide you with a personal programme designed to allow you to meet your exercise goals. Plus Zest members get unlimited updates and renewals on your programme – just ask.

Can my child come to the gym with me?

Yes, depending on how old your child is and the times you wish to come. We allow children in the gym over the age of 11. We have dedicated junior fitzone times when they can come in. An instructor is always present who will guide them through the sessions and parents/guardians can also come in with them. Children under the age of 16 will not be able to use the resistance or free weight equipment but can still get great benefits from the range of cardio vascular equipment we have to offer. There are different payments methods please speak to a member of the Zest team to get your child started.

Can my son/daughter sit and wait in the gym for me?

Children under the age of 10 may not enter the gym; children who are between the age of 11 and 15 may use the gym, only when an organised activity is available

Are there any Family Memberships?

We have Family memberships which include 2 adults and 2 children up to the age 15. There are fantastic savings on this for the family to use all our facilities

Are there any discounts for student memberships?

We have great student rates in place for Aerobic classes and use of our gyms. Plus we have termly passes and Student memberships either by direct debit or annual payment, to qualify for this membership you must be a full time student and able to provide ID proof; speak to a member of our Zest team to get started. 

What is the minimum age for using exercise classes?

All our exercise classes we have a minimum age of 14 years old, if you have a family membership then your children can join you, added value to your membership

Can I book a place onto an exercise class?

Certain exercise classes have limited numbers such as spinning, Members can book up to 7 days in advance, either by reception or online, see Exercise Class time table/website for bookable classes.

On arrival to the class you must report to reception to record your attendance.

Please present your membership card 15 minutes prior to the start time of the class.

If you cannot attend you must cancel the activity 2 days before, failure to attend you will be charged for the activity.

Do I get a Membership Card?

All members will be required to use there membership swipe card at reception.
If you lose your card, the first card will be issued free of charge. After that we can charge a fee to replace it

Do you do Personal Training?

Yes we offer Personal Training and your first consultation is free where our Personal Trainers will assess your lifestyle and advise you what programme to follow to achieve your fitness goals.

Payments are £25 per hour and if you buy block of 6 we will give you one session free.
