
Exercise, Fitness and Workout Programme
This enables members of the public both adults and children to access a programme of various pool and land based activities leading to a healthy lifestyle.
All Trafford Community Leisure Trust sites have a keep & trainwell program which is located on poolside. The programme delivers a workout system that is available to all customers (casual and members - children and adults) of all abilities weather beginner or advanced.
The system intends to provide swimmers with a comprehensive workout package that prommotes increases in fitness and swimming proficiency in a self lead environment. The keep & train well package contains 4 levels of difficulty which are contained on workout cards of various colours. The cards start at beginner and go through to channel swimmer. In addition there are a number of warm up cards which outline effective stretches and warm ups before you begin.
The 4 stages of the programme:
BEGINNER TRAINER GREEN
IMPROVER TRAINER YELLOW
ADVANCED TRAINER RED
CHANNEL TRAINER BLUE
Each stage contains 3 levels that work on 1, endurance 2, work strength and speed and 3, Technique
Swimming is one of the few ways of getting exercise that improves your all-round health & fitness because it can boost strength, stamina and suppleness all at the same time. In addition swimming is, generally, kinder to your body than land-based exercise because your natural buoyancy in water helps you avoid the jarring knocks that can cause injuries.
