Another Great Year!

With the swimming season coming to a close the last 11 months has been an another successful year for Trafford’s performance swimming squad.

Swim Trafford celebrated an excellent season; culminating in major achievements.

Top club award in July at Sunderland Swimming Club competition.

North West Regional success. For the third year running all the youth swimmers competed at the Manchester Aquatics Centre alongside all the top swimmers across the region. The meet was a big success with the team finishing fifth overall behind the big clubs; Stockport, Salford, City of Liverpool and Pioneer 79

Trafford Borough Junior 9 -12 years old swimmers represented Swim Trafford in the final round of the NW Micro League. It was a close competition with all the teams showing good depth but Swim Trafford came out on top in the end.

14 swimmers qualifying for British, Scottish, Welsh and English Summer Championships. Many of the swimmers made the finals and smashed their personal best times. Hannah & Laura Head winning medals at the Welsh Nationals. Max Martin and Craig McNeil winning medals at the English Nationals.

Craig McNeil was Swim Trafford overall Swimmer of the Year. Chosen not just for his swimming ability but also for volunteering.

Craig McNeil had an absolutely amazing experience as a volunteer at the European championships in London. Craig was a medal chaperone and had the opportunity to meet many of the top European athletes. Including James Guy.

James once swam at Trafford Metro Development club and then at Swim Trafford. Congratulations to James on Silver at the 2016 Olympics in Rio

Well done to all the volunteers behind the scenes and especially to coaches James Stannard and Nick Boylan.
