Congratulations to our staff member Zoe Dale for becoming Miss Manchester 2017

Zoe competed against 24 other finalists to be crown Miss Manchester 2017!

Zoe from Chalton has been a keen swimmer most of her life, competeing for Stretford Swimming Club and Swim Trafford where she the north west champion butterfly swimmer. Zoe is currently completing a masters in sports science with the ambition to use her knowledge in the rehabilitation of amputees and people living with disabilities. She said after winning the tiara: “I can’t quite believe it, it’s the first time I’ve ever entered anything like this, it really hasn’t sunk in.”

She was asked on stage by reigning Miss England Elizabeth Grant: “What would you do to improve Manchester?”.

She answered: “There’s not much improving to do let’s face it, we’re the greatest city” - prompting huge cheers and a chant of “la la la, Manchester" from the audience.

She added: “I want to bring people together and raise money together and work together as a team, to improve things for not just us, the whole world.”

Her proud dad Mark Dale was cheering her on on the night, as well as her brother Matt and boyfriend Andrew Chapman.

Dad Mark said: “She is the most amazing person, inside and out. She is absolutely what this competition is all about, she is Manchester 100 per cent and the most beautiful person inside and out, all she cares about is other people, and how she can help other people.

“I’m the proudest dad alive right now.”

Zoe will go on to represent Manchester in the Miss England 2017 in July. Trafford Leisure sponsored Zoe for the Miss Manchester event on Friday night and we would like to send our congratulations from everyone here at Trafford Leisure! Well done Zoe.
