Club Support
Trafford has a strong sports club tradition with a high number of Clubs for the size of the borough. Sport Trafford are aware of the vital role all the Clubs play in the community and the impact they have on sport at all levels. It is essential that the Clubs are supported to be able to continue this work and help with their development on a Club by Club basis.
The Club support pages have been devised to assist Clubs to develop in ways that may not have been thought of and to help with any issues that individual Clubs may have.
There are a variety of opportunities to gain support and assistance all of which can be discussed in more detail on an individual basis by contacting Paul Mcguffog.
Trafford Sports Council Workshops
Trafford Sports Council are a voluntary organisation that help the development of Clubs and Coaches within the borough. They organise a variety of Club and Coach development workshops throughout the year, all of which are either Sports Coach UK or Running Sport courses.
For further information on the work of the Trafford Sports Council go to www.traffordsportscouncil.org.uk.
For information on which courses are available through Sports Coach UK and running Sport go to www.sportscoachuk.org and www.runningsports.org
If your Club has enough personnel wishing to attend a course Trafford Sports Council may be able to organise the relevant workshop specifically for you, again contact them directly for more information.
Volunteer support
Without the work of volunteers sports Clubs would grind to a halt. Most Clubs have issues around volunteers whether it be not enough of them or the same ones undertaking all the jobs. Sport Trafford can offer support for Clubs to help address these issues.
For further information on volunteers and volunteering see the Volunteer section of the website.
Trafford Club Audit
The Trafford Club audit provides Sport Trafford with important information that helps shape the way we work with local Clubs. The audit is sent to Clubs on an annual basis and the responses we gain back help us to prioritise areas of support that are clearly important aspects for Trafford Clubs. For example if there is a clear specific education need within a large number of Clubs we will arrange an appropriate workshop or training course to fill the gap.
If you know your Club has not received the current Club audit it can be downloaded by clicking the link (coming soon). This is a key way to help us help you so please ensure your audits are returned.

Criminal Records Bureau Checks
Criminal Records Bureau checks or Disclosures are an important way of helping to identify those people who may be unsuitable to work with children or other vulnerable members of the community. Sports Clubs have a responsibility to all their members to ensure that they offer safe environments to both young and old alike. The Trafford Sports Council act as signatories for the CRB and organise workshops throughout the year to assist the completion of the application form and verify the identification documents.
For further information on Criminal Records Bureau Checks go to www.crb.gov.uk or to find out information on when the next Trafford Sports Council workshop is go to www.traffordsportscouncil.org.uk
