Physical activity and community

Sport Trafford have a strong involvement in community intiatives promoting a range of physical activity programmes for children and adults.

Community
Sport Trafford have a strong commitment to provide community sport and physical activity aiming to enhance awareness and community provision. We strategically link with various agencies such as the Youth Service, PAYP, Greater Manchester Police, Youth Offending Team and various localised community groups to help plan, implement and deliver activities specific to community needs.

Also we currently deliver an extremely successful Youth Service Sports Coach Scheme where sport development coaches enhance sporting delivery in Youth Centres across Trafford. We also have a dedicated community officer for Partington who drives the community agenda on a local basis.

Physical Activity
In order to lead an active healthy lifestyle, adults should aim to do at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity (something which makes you breathe a little bit deeper and feel a little bit warmer) 5 days of the week or more. Children should aim to do 60mins. Being physically active doesn’t mean you have to play sport or go to the gym, it could be as simple as going for a brisk walk around the park, or cycling to work.
