Armed Forces Access Active Trafford
Trafford Community Leisure Trust have, for the first time, recognised the Armed Forces as part of their Active Trafford Concessionary Leisure Pass Scheme. The scheme, which has recently received a complete re-brand, entitles its users to discounted rates for activities and classes across all of the Trusts facilities. These sites include:
- Altrincham Leisure Centre
- The Grammar, Bowdon
- Sale Leisure Centre
- Stretford Leisure Centre
- Urmston Leisure Centre
- George H Carnall Leisure Centre
- Partington Sports Village
- Altrincham Golf Course
- William Wroe Golf Course
Bernie Jones Chief Executive of the Trust said, ‘ With the current financial climate physical activity is often at the bottom of peoples budget priorities, however, the health benefits of regular exercise are priceless and Trafford Community Leisure Trust through Active Trafford want to ensure that every member of the community has the opportunity to access physical Activity.’
Another change to the scheme is the addition of a student category. In order to qualify for this discounted rate you must be in full time education. The function of the scheme is to recognise and remove the financial barriers that sections of the community face in order to access leisure provision. Since its launch in April the feedback has been extremely positive with more residents than ever taking advantage of the scheme. The highest increase has come from low income groups highlighting that sport and leisure is now accessible for all.
