Street Games
StreetGames was established in 2006 to promote sport for young people living in the most disadvantaged communities. StreetGames prime focus is to make sport accessible to young people regardless of their income and social circumstances. New sports that have been developed include Futsual, Handball,Tri Golf, other popular activities include Street Cheer, Miltary Challenge, Skateboading & Graffiti Art as well as the traditional sports such as Basketball, Football & Cricket, a fundamental part of this development is that local people and organisations lead and shape sport in their community.

Champions Challenge
Champions Challenge, formerly Greater Manchester Youth Games is the largest annual multisport competition held outside London. All ten Greater Manchester boroughs field Competitors into the competition which is coordinated by the GreaterSport Partnership. This event gives young people school age years 7 to 11 the opportunity to compete in a competitive Sporting environment. The Trafford team consists of over 250 young people participating in different sports and 50 coaches and team managers.

2009 CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE REVIEW

 

Greater Manchester Mini Games
The Greater Manchester Mini Games is an annual multisport competition for primary school aged young people. Each authority brings it’s best teams together to compete in this fantastic event. Each year the competition is hosted by a different Manchester borough. This year's games was hosted by Tameside at Alder Community High School with over 300 young primary school athletes from the participating Borough's.  The schools competed in 9 sports (Athletics, Basketball, Football, Netball, Gymnastics, Hockey, Tag Rugby and Tennis).
