DANCE MAT TOURNAMENT-Halloween Theme
On Saturday 1st Nov 08, Tuf*C held its very own DANCE MAT TOURNAMENT at the Urban leisure session at Stretford Leisure centre. Young people and the coaches got into the Halloween spirit and came fancy dress. We had grim reepers, devils, fairies, and various others. There was a Halloween themed room where 25 People took part in the dance mat tournment, however, there could only be one winner to take away the trophy and two runner ups. CONGRATULATIONS to TANYA STEWART- WILLIAMS for becoming the TUF*C URBAN LEISURE DANCE MAT CHAMPION NOV 08, and the runners up were REMIESE DEJONGE-LEE in 2ND place and RHYS BAILEY in 3RD.....thank you to everybody that took part, it was a great day.... look out for more competitions and tournaments in the future.

OT REC- Knife Crime
On Wednesday 8th October Tuf*C, Sports Trafford and Greater Manchester Police, joined together at the Old Trafford Sports Barn to discuss and share their thoughts on the knife crime of today. Police Constable Kristian Lowe, delivered a 1 hour talk on the issue. Using videos and images he explained to the regular attendees from the OT REC sessions, the high risks and the ways in which we could help prevent Knife crime from happening. It was an eye opener for the young people as they listened to the statistics and facts about Knife crime. The session brought awareness to the young people and gave out a positive message to spread the word about the ways in which we could tackle Knife crime.
The Big Tidy UP
Tuf*C and the Cleaner, Safer, Greener Team, came together to help tidy up around the Old Trafford Sports Barn and Youth Club on Friday 26th September. Many of the Tuf*C coaches are based at the Sports Barn and were happy to help clean up the community for this national Big Tidy Up event. Tuf*C and the Cleaner, Safer, Greener Team did a great job and managed to clean up piles of rubbish and waste and some also put their gardening skills on show.

Tuf*C Summer Programme
This years Summer Programme was a great success, with several fun and exciting activities taking place it was sure to be excellent. Young people within and around the Old Trafford community came along to the Sports Barn to join in active sessions delivered by Tuf*C coaches. Activities included:
- Dance Mats
- Limbo
- Relay races
- Football
- Basketball
- Athletics
- Tug-o-War
Tuf*C also held sessions in several parks within the Trafford areas, including Ashton Park, Broad Oak, Stamford Park, Old Field Brow, Longford Park. Tuf*C coaches delivered sporting activities for local young people within the parks.
TRIPS
Tuf*C took 17 young people and ventured out to the fantastic Sandcastle Swimming park in Blackpool, where you will find it has the worlds fastest indoor rollercoaster slide .It was heaving with people, but we still managed to have a great time. A day packed with excitement and most of all, adrenaline rushes. We cant wait to go again next year...... The following week, we got our skates on and hit the ice at Altrinchams Silver Blades ice rink. Fun and exciting as we watched each others skating techniques, watched each other show-off and not forgetting, watched each other fall!
For those who attended, it was a brilliant summer, and next year is guaranteed to be even better! Tuf*C is open to all ideas, get in touch to share your thoughts with us.
