Anthony Garwood
Before I came over to sports development I was a mentor for 2.5 years for 'Lets Get Serious' until the company folded. I took what I learnt as a mentor into Oakwood High school (now Chorlton High) over 2 school terms. I engaged with 5 mentees (young people).
Qualifications and Certificates:
For the last 5 years or so I have been with Tuf*C where I supervised up to 20 workers, who's ideas and motivation are both widespread and healthy. I play a bigger role at one of our sessions called Urban Leisure, held at Stretford Leisure Center every saturday evening between 6-9pm. As a team our work at Tuf*C, not only involves us improving young peoples skills and attitudes, but as coaches our own development which can be used to strengthen and deepen the relationships within it and maximize the opportunities that await a strong and united team. A good understanding of others needs and backgrounds, respect and clean appearance, makes the team strive to be seen as positive role models also.
Through working for Tuf*C I have also been promoted to become Senior Leisure Attendant at the newly opened Old Trafford Sports Barn. All the staff at the barn also work under Tuf*C which is excellent for all our work profiles. I relish all challenges which the barn creates, so that I can develop relevent skills that may affect me as a supervisor. I deal with the basic running of the Sports Barn e.g time sheets, stock takings and health and safety assessments.
Hobbies:
I come from a background which involved:
With the likes of Master Sken and Oliver Harrison as my mentors, I take this sport as my no1 sport, in which I hold 2 British Heavyweight/Super Heavyweight belts which I obtained whilst under the tuition of O. Harrison.
