Stretford Swimming Club

Stretford Swimming Club was founded in 1888 and has always offered the three disciplines of swimming, lifesaving and waterpolo to the local community. It has always held annual Club Championships and some of the earliest dates on the shields are the 1920's. Stretford Swimming Club has nurtured para olympians in swimming and has had a number of water polo players in the National Team. Stretford moved to Stretford Leisure Centre now called Stretford Sports Village in the 1980's and continues to be a family friendly club with multiple generations of families involved with its activities.

Children who have completed their Stage 7 of the NPTS can attend a trial with the club. There is no minimum age for swimming members, however waterpolo members must be at least 8 years old. The club is fully inclusive to able bodied and disabled people however please advise before attending a trial if you think additional support may be needed for your child, every effort will be made to achieve this.

Assessments usually take place on a Sunday at 4.30pm by prior arrangement with the coaching team. If you are interested or would like to attend a trial please contact Elaine Armstrong on 0161 969 0215 or
